Did you know that Ny-Ålesund is the northernmost functional civilian civilization on the world? In 2015 it was centered in the totality of a solar eclipse, something that had not happened in three hundred years, since Edmond Halley did so.

As such, it was one of the darkest points on earth for a moment, and the closest place to the wilderness without leaving society. Imagine what kind of experience that must have been.

In the Magnus Archives, the Dark is an old, primal fear. There is a Still and Lightless Beast, hunting those in the shadows. There is a ritual, unknown to many but in the Dark's sway. And there is a dark star, impossible to behold but there nonetheless, waiting to consume all in it's suffocating shade.
