Scarlet Macaw - Step by Step

A scarlet macaw made with Autodesk Sketchbook Pro. I used the 'Feathery Build Up' brush from Jason's Art Brushes set for most of it with the blur and smear tools to make the background. Google images were used as reference.

Made beak and head feathers with side by side reference with google images.

Added body and back, using red and orange colors at first.

Added yellow and green, and made each color on a different layer so they seem to blend a bit more.

Almost done, added lighting to wood. Will make eye slightly more realistic.
